Buyers who have been looking for a midsize three-row family crossover that offers lots of room in the cabin, exceptional handling and plenty of standard features should take a good look at the 2021 GMC Acadia. Customers of the Watsonville GMC dealer report they love the GMC Acadia’s attractive styling, user-friendly infotainment system, and abundant cargo space.
Changes for 2021 come chiefly in the form of modifications to the option packages. The SLT, AT4, and Denali trims now get the Pro Safety Plus package as standard equipment. It includes a number of driver-assistance features. The SLE and SLT can now get the Elevation Edition package, which comes with 20-inch wheels and black exterior trim. The SLT and AT4 trims’ Premium package gets a heated steering wheel, and both models can now get the Technology package, which adds a 360-degree camera system and a head-up display. All trims except the base SL get standard second-row captain’s chairs. According to the GMC dealership near Watsonville, the Acadia gets three new exterior paint colors: Cayenne Red Tintcoat, Hunter Metallic and Midnight Blue Metallic
The 2021 GMC Acadia is available in five trim levels: SL, SLE, SLT, AT4 and Denali. There are three engine choices. The SL and SLE trims employ a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 194 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. The SLT and Denali trims are equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 230 hp and 258 lb-ft. Under the hood of the AT4 is a 3.6-liter V6 that cranks out 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. All three engines are connected to a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The Acadia AT4 trim gets standard all-wheel drive. The other models come with front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive, except for the base SL, which is front-wheel drive only.
Step inside the 2021 Acadia, and you’ll be impressed by its upscale cabin, which features modern styling and soft-touch surfaces. Active noise cancellation keeps the interior whisper-quiet, insulating the cabin from road and wind noise. The Acadia’s Smart Slide system makes it easy for third-row passengers to enter and exit the vehicle.
The 2021 GMC Acadia provides lots of room for cargo, with 12.8 cubic feet of space behind the third row. Fold the second and third rows, and there’s a full 79 cubic available to store anything you’ll need to take along for the ride.
The SL trim is the base model, but it comes with a great feature set, including keyless open and start, tri-zone auto climate control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, a 7.0-inch color touchscreen, five USB ports, a rear-seat reminder system and five years of OnStar.
The top-line Denali trim includes ventilated front seats, driver-seat memory functions, heated second-row seats, a digital instrument panel, power-folding heated mirrors, a head-up display and wireless device charging.
GM engineers its vehicles with safety in mind, so it’s not surprising the 2021 GMC Acadia gets excellent crash-test scores. The NHTSA gave the 2021 Acadia its highest score of five stars for overall safety, and the IIHS bestowed the Acadia with the top marks of Good for all crash tests.
